Hull House Talk

Hi! I'm Theresa Blankenship, Owner/ Innkeeper at Historic Hull House Inn. I'd like to take a moment to share our story with you in hopes you will find our Inn enchanting and inviting. For years my husband and I have traveled to different B&B's and Inn's all over the country. I've always had a passion and a love for old historical homes, I guess this came from visiting my grandma Hines old farmhouse when I was young, I never could really put my finger on why I had such partiality to old windows, doors and stairways the creakier the better, lol Well back to my story, I would be so excited to see the B&B's or Inn's to see all the details in the furnishings, different woodwork and thinking, "oh maybe they would let us see the kitchen?" I could hardly wait I just knew they had read my mind. I anticipated fresh flowers in different rooms you know the whole bit because after all this was an extra special weekend, it was our anniversary you know. So we would get there and all my expectations would fade to a dull I am just not that impressed. So at that point I made up my mind that I could do this and still add all the frills and fluff that I love and still make money doing it..

I love being a Hostess and I love serving people and seeing them comfortable and happy. So I incorporated my ideas and experiences to create a place where every guest could come and relax in a beautiful place where it doesn't hurt to go the extra mile and give a little more than you think you need to receive.

I wanted to establish, for a lack of a better word, "A thing of the past" where people actually do get their moneys worth and when they leave they feel they truly had a pleasurable relaxing and yes exciting experience.

I am excited to expand my horizons by using social media, such as this blog site, to keep you informed of the exciting events that are taking place at the Historic Hull House Inn. Such events include graduations, bridal parties, birthdays, anniversaries or just a simple weekend get-a-way. This has been a journey and I can't wait to share memories with all of you.
